The Lebanese party brand somewhere... has announced the launch of its own record label. This new venture is a declaration of intent from a collective that has been a cornerstone of the Middle-Eastern electronic scene since the early 2000s.

somewhere... is more than just a name; it's a concept, a gathering of like-minded people drawn together by their love for forward-thinking electronic music and the myriad sounds that lie in between. It's this eclectic taste and dedication to the underground that has seen the brand rapidly expand its influence across cities far and wide since its inception.

The label’s mission is clear: to be an outlet for new music that captures the essence of their legendary parties, while also serving as a launching pad and exchange platform for emerging talents in the electronic music sphere, both regionally and internationally. By documenting the evolving sonic identity of their events, somewhere... aims to keep the dancefloor at the heart of everything they do, drawing inspiration from the raw energy of '90s rave, house, electro and breaks to fuel their creative journey.

Set to make waves on April 19, somewhere... is gearing up to fully unveil its debut release, a captivating four-track EP titled ‘Stimulation Of A Thinking Computer’ by Berlin's own studio maestro, Otis. This forthcoming release offers commanding, stripped-back grooves that seize the listener's focus, while the B-side unfolds into rhythmic, atmospheric soundscapes, enriched with ethereal pads for a truly enveloping auditory experience. Otis's adeptness at forging engaging sound narratives highlights the rich array and expansive scope of electronic music. You can pre-order-it here.

Ronin, synonymous with the Beirut electronic music scene and celebrated for his ability and consistency to bridge modern and old-school sounds, is the mastermind of the somewhere... brand. From his early days as one half of the dynamic trendsetting duo Ronin & Nesta to his combined almost two decades residencies at the city's most prestigious clubbing institutions like The Basement, The Garten and The Grand Factory, to most recently at The Ballroom Blitz in Beirut, he embodies the spirit of the underground.

A statement about the launch of the label reads: “Over the last few months we have worked tirelessly to bring to life what has been an all time passion project, and document the sonic identity of our parties as it evolves.

“The dancefloor is our driving force, it’s what inspires our sound. As such, our label becomes an extension of our parties, and our parties become an extension of our label — giving space to artists to express themselves through one and the other, and always pushing for more, with no boundaries or rules.

“For our first instalment on the label, we welcome the enigmatic Otis into our family with the Stimulation of a Thinking Computer EP. Four driving tracks; hard, stripped back cuts on the A side and rhythmic, spacey soundscapes on the flipside.”
