Vinyl Souk celebrates first anniversary in Dubai on April 26

Vinyl Souk, a Dubai-based monthly event dedicated to fostering analog culture and serving as a marketplace for analog equipment and music, is celebrating its first anniversary. The 12th edition of the monthly series, set for April 26, will feature a series of partnerships and artist appearances to mark this occasion.

Kicking off the events, Vinyl Souk is to host Dubai's inaugural vinyl record exchange in partnership with Swap For Good. Attendees are encouraged to bring not only vinyl records but also clothing, footwear, bags, accessories, books, CDs and cassettes to participate in the swap.

Swap for Good is a forward-thinking movement driven by a commitment to crafting a sustainable future. Its mission is to alter consumer behaviours in the UAE, encouraging people to exchange rather than purchase, to reuse instead of discard, and to engage with their community.

The Souk Sessions at Nomad Day Bar will showcase the UAE debut of Aroop Roy, a London-based DJ, producer, musician, and record label executive known for blending electronic music with diverse organic sounds.

Additionally, Vinyl Souk will be hosting a listening session for Dubai's indie electronic group WYWY as they unveil their debut album “Whispers of Existence”, which will be followed by DJ sets from WYWY and NazraBazra.

The event will also attract enthusiasts of music, photography and cinema to an expertly curated marketplace promoting analog music, film photography, cinema and broader analog culture. The gathering will also highlight local art, craft and food brands.

Also, the after-party at Monkey Bar promises to be a vibrant showcase featuring emerging talents. The line-up for Volume 12's after-party includes headline act Aroop Roy, along with DJ/producer Lenar, and the electronic duo Paloma Monnappa and Emanuel from Tropical Wax.
