Lukas & Frank merge live sax, cello and Afro house into unique live experiences
The Berlin-based duo’s 2026 release run has included “Promiscuous”, “Fire” and the latest addition to their catalogue, “Beat It”
Lukas & Frank are quickly establishing themselves as one of the more distinctive live acts emerging from the Afro house and melodic house scenes. Combining DJing with live saxophone and cello, the Berlin-based duo bring a live, musical edge to their electronic sets.
Launched in 2024, the project brings together two musicians with very different routes into electronic music. Lukas began with classical training before moving into saxophone and DJing, while Frank's background in classical music later took him through rock, techno and contemporary electronic sounds before he found his voice through live cello performance. Alongside their music, the duo are also the founders of House of Lukas & Frank (HOLF), an event platform built around curated house music experiences. HOLF has already taken events to cities including Berlin, London, Paris, Istanbul and Sofia.
The idea for Lukas & Frank came together almost by chance during a shared performance, but the chemistry between the two musicians quickly developed into a wider creative partnership. Their combination of live instrumentation and electronic music has given them a recognisable identity at a time when Afro house continues to expand across international club and festival circuits.
Their recorded output has begun to make an impact, too. “Back To Black” entered Spotify's Viral Top 50 and reached the Top 10 of Beatport's Afro house chart, while “Promiscuous” climbed as high as No. 2 on the same chart. Both releases have also received support from established DJs and tastemakers.
The pair's 2026 release run includes “Promiscuous”, “Fire” and their latest single, “Beat It”, released with Adrian Forsén.
