Sueños de Esperanza is turning a community-driven vision into a global platform

Bugra Baktir reflects on trust, legacy and why Barcelona marks a major milestone in the evolution of Sueños de Esperanza

  • 10 June 2026

Over the past few years, Sueños de Esperanza has evolved from an ambitious independent promoter into a multi-faceted cultural platform spanning artist management, events, label operations and hospitality. Founded on a commitment to community and long-term thinking, the project has steadily expanded beyond its roots while maintaining the values that first shaped its identity. Today, it stands at a pivotal moment, balancing international growth with a philosophy that places human connection at the centre of everything it does.

In this conversation, founder and artist Bugra Baktir reflects on the journey so far, from building trust within the electronic music community and nurturing the ethos behind #unagranfamilia to the forthcoming opening of Barcelona-based RITMO by Esperanza. He also discusses the future of the brand, the opportunities he hopes to unlock through international expansion, and the next chapter of his own artistic output, including forthcoming collaborations set for release later this year.

How have you been, and how has the first half of the year treated both you personally and Sueños de Esperanza?

The first half of the year has been intense, but in the best possible way. Personally, I feel more focused than ever. Every year teaches you something different, and this one has reinforced the importance of patience, structure and long-term vision.

For Sueños de Esperanza, it has been a period of growth and validation. We have expanded our presence, strengthened our artist roster, delivered memorable events and continued building something that extends beyond nightlife. We are no longer simply organising events; we are creating an ecosystem where music, hospitality, culture and community coexist.

Most importantly, we have remained true to our original vision while taking meaningful steps towards becoming a truly international brand.

What aspects of the project have changed the most since its early days, and what values have remained untouched? Where would you say Sueños de Esperanza stands today?

The scale has changed dramatically. In the early days, we were driven almost entirely by passion and instinct. Today, there is a much larger structure behind everything we do, from artist management and label operations to hospitality and international expansion.

What has never changed is our belief that people come before everything else. Relationships, loyalty, trust and respect have always been at the centre of Sueños de Esperanza.

Today, I believe we stand in a unique position. We are no longer an emerging project, but we are also not a corporation disconnected from its community. We are somewhere in between — large enough to have influence, yet close enough to maintain authenticity.

When you compare your current position to where you started, what milestones make you feel you've genuinely progressed?

The biggest milestone is not a specific event or number.

It is the fact that people trust us.

Artists trust us. Venues trust us. Audiences trust us.

Of course, there have been measurable achievements — hosting internationally recognised artists, growing our label, selling tens of thousands of tickets and receiving industry recognition. But the true milestone is that Sueños de Esperanza has become a name that people associate with consistency and credibility.

That takes years to build and seconds to lose.

If you had to describe the identity of Sueños de Esperanza in three different chapters — who you were, who you are and who you aim to become — how would those chapters differ?

The first chapter was about proving that we belonged.

The second chapter, where we are today, is about building something sustainable and meaningful.

The third chapter will be about legacy.

We started as dreamers trying to earn a seat at the table.

Today, we are builders creating our own table.

Tomorrow, I hope we become a cultural institution that continues to create opportunities for artists, entrepreneurs and communities long after our generation is gone.

The phrase #unagranfamilia appears frequently within your community. What does it represent beyond a slogan, and how is it reflected in the way you operate?

To be honest, #unagranfamilia was never created as a slogan. It became part of our identity because it reflects something much deeper than music, events or business.

Throughout history, people have always searched for places where they belong — a table they can sit around, a fire they can gather beside, a tribe that understands them without needing explanations. For me, #unagranfamilia represents exactly that.

At Sueños de Esperanza, we often say that people arrive as guests, but over time they become part of the story. Some arrive as artists, some as partners, some as audience members, yet somehow they all become chapters in the same book.

There is a certain symbolism in that. Different backgrounds. Different countries. Different beliefs. Yet everyone contributes a stone to the same temple.

That is why we have never viewed Sueños de Esperanza as a collection of events. We see it as a living organism built by many hands, many minds and many hearts.

The hashtag simply became the name of that philosophy. It reminds us that no meaningful structure is ever built alone.

Every stage, every song, every venue, every opportunity and every success exists because countless people have contributed something greater than themselves.

In a world that increasingly celebrates individuality, #unagranfamilia is our reminder that the most beautiful things are still built together.

When we last spoke, you revealed plans to establish one of your headquarters in Barcelona. Fast forward to today, and RITMO by Esperanza has opened its doors there. What role will it play within your wider vision?

This is one of the most meaningful moments of my professional journey.

Exactly one year ago, during my interview with Mixmag Türkiye and Mixmag MENA on 25 May 2025, I spoke publicly about our ambition to establish a headquarters in Barcelona.

What makes the story extraordinary is that exactly one year later, on 25 May 2026, I signed the allocation agreement for the venue that would become RITMO by Esperanza.

Sometimes life has a poetic way of rewarding conviction.

Located at Via Augusta 9, RITMO by Esperanza will officially open on 15 September. The venue has a standing capacity of 450 guests and seating for 150.

More importantly, it represents our European home.

It will be a half-Turkish, half-Spanish concept — a fusion of gastronomy, cocktails, music and culture. A place where people can enjoy tapas-inspired cuisine, curated musical experiences and authentic hospitality under one roof.

For me, RITMO is not simply a restaurant or event hall. It is the physical manifestation of a dream that was spoken into existence a year earlier.

What experiences or opportunities do you hope artists and audiences will find there?

I want artists to feel a sense of ownership.

I want emerging talents to stand on the same stage as established names and believe they belong there.

For audiences, I want RITMO to feel like discovering a secret that you immediately want to share with your friends.

Whether someone comes for dinner, cocktails, a showcase, a listening session or a late-night gathering, I want them to leave feeling inspired.

The goal is to create memories, not transactions.

At a time when many promoters compete for attention, what do you believe makes Sueños de Esperanza culturally distinct?

We are not chasing trends. We are building culture. There is a difference.

Many promoters focus on individual events. We focus on building long-term ecosystems.

That includes our artists, our label, our hospitality projects, our venues and our community.

We try to connect people through meaningful experiences rather than simply selling tickets.

Our identity has always been rooted in storytelling, symbolism, emotion and human connection. That combination gives Sueños de Esperanza a personality that people recognise instantly.

Is there a defining moment that best encapsulates how far Sueños de Esperanza has come since its inception?

There have been many memorable moments, but if I had to choose one, it would probably be the moment I realised that our vision had begun to exist independently of me.

When people I have never met speak about Sueños de Esperanza as if it belongs to them, I know we have built something real.

That is when a project becomes a movement.

As your brand enters a new chapter, what opportunities are you still hoping to unlock for the future?

International expansion remains a major priority. Barcelona is a significant step, but it is only the beginning.

I want to continue creating bridges between different cultures, scenes and creative communities.

I also believe there is enormous potential in bringing hospitality, music and lifestyle together under one unified vision.

The future is about building platforms where artists can thrive, audiences can connect, and new ideas can emerge organically.

Final question is about your work as an artist. Over the years, you've delivered standout collaborations the likes of ‘Back & Forth’, ‘Saraka’, ‘Come To’ and ‘Oro Y Plata’. Do you have any new collaborations in the pipeline that you can share with us for the remainder of the year?

Absolutely. The closest release is a track called ‘Dilemma’, produced together with my dear friends Badrops and Wringley. It will premiere during our Sunset Gathering on 12 June, and I am genuinely excited for people to hear it.

Beyond that, I have been working on two very special collaborations over the past four months.

One is with a close friend from Spain, and the other is with a talented friend from Mexico. Both projects are scheduled to be released through labels that I deeply respect and admire.

For now, I have to keep the details under wraps. Some surprises are worth waiting for.

What I can say is that these records represent a new level of maturity in my artistic journey, and I look forward to sharing them with the world before the end of the year.
