Zamna heads to North Cyprus for landmark debut event on May 10

Born on the vibrant dance floors of the Americas and rooted in the lush jungles of Tulum, Zamna Festival is set to make its North Cyprus debut on May 10, Saturday. Taking over the golden sands of Palm Beach in Famagusta, the event promises to bring the spirit of electronic music to life under the Mediterranean sky.

Originally launched in 2017 in the mystical surrounds of Tulum, Zamna was designed as an immersive experience for those seeking to connect with electronic music in nature’s embrace. In just a few years, the festival has grown into a global phenomenon, forging partnerships with powerhouse brands like Afterlife, Keinemusik and Circoloco, and hosting events from Europe to Asia. After drawing headlines with a landmark show at Egypt’s Giza Pyramids this year, Zamna now sets its sights on the Mediterranean isle of Cyprus.

The lineup for the North Cyprus edition brings together a carefully selected group of genre-blurring artists, each offering a distinct sonic journey. Chris Avantgarde crafts emotionally resonant soundscapes where melancholic melodies intertwine with dark, immersive textures, with notable releases on labels like Afterlife. Mahmut Orhan blends rich Eastern influences with contemporary electronic forms, known for his dynamic performances and globally recognised productions. Sparrow & Barbossa combine Afro-infused rhythms with deep, melodic layers, creating sets that are both danceable and deeply expressive. Abstraal delivers precise and driving techno, characterised by stripped-back structures and raw intensity. Duvas builds emotive narratives through atmospheric arrangements and sweeping transitions, following a year marked by a trio of acclaimed releases.

This edition marks a pivotal moment for North Cyprus as it edges onto the map of major electronic music destinations in the Mediterranean. With Zamna’s immersive production ethos and a carefully curated lineup, May 10 at Palm Beach is shaping up to be an experience that lingers long after the last beat drops.

Zamna North Cyprus is brought to life in collaboration with regional tastemakers including Ecorche, Flex, La Nouba, Sonix, and Technoport; all known for shaping the nightlife landscape in the northern part of the island.
