The world's biggest DJ tracklist database platform 1001Tracklists has shared their annual ‘A State Of Dance Music’ report, providing a detailed look at the data behind the biggest sets and most played electronic music tracks in 2024.

According to data from 1001Tracklists, over 7.9 million users engaged with the platform throughout the year, resulting in more than 73 million pageviews.

Throughout the year, 68,773 new tracklists were uploaded to 1001Tracklists, averaging nearly 190 new entries daily. Of these, 14,973 were live sets, while 2,245 radio shows had dedicated tracklists. Additionally, 104,907 new tracks were added to the database, underlining the platform's extensive catalog growth.

The platform's annual report highlighted the most popular genres in DJ sets for 2024. Dance music led with a 24.1% share, followed by tech house (19.2%) and House (12%). Other prominent genres included mainstage (10.7%), melodic house & techno (8.4%), trance (8%), bass house (5%) and techno (4.1%).

The top tracks of the year were led by John Summit & Silver Panda's remix of The Temper Trap's "Sweet Disposition." Following closely were Steve Angello & Sebastian Ingrosso's "Skip" and Adam Port & Stryv's "Move." Disclosure's "She's Gone, Dance On" and Mau P's "Beats for the Underground" rounded out the top five. Additional noteworthy tracks included Low Steppa & Tony Romera's "Dance to the Music" and Dom Dolla's "Girl$."

In terms of record labels, Armada Music claimed the top spot, with Toolroom Records and Smash The House ranking second and third, respectively. Spinnin' Records and Insomniac Records also featured prominently. Defected Records, Experts Only, Afterlife Recordings, Musical Freedom Records, and Atlantic Records completed the top 10.

For radio shows, Tiesto's Club Life secured first place, followed by A State of Trance and Hardwell On Air. Oliver Heldens' Heldeep Radio and John Summit's Experts Only Radio also garnered significant attention. Other notable shows included Keinemusik Radio Show, The Martin Garrix Show and Adam Beyer’s Drumcode Radio.

Representing the MENA region, Sharam made a strong impact in 2024 with the remix of his 2006 track "Party All The Time", reimagined by Adam Beyer, Layton Giordani and Green Velvet, ranking among the top 10 most DJ supported tracks and the top 10 most individually listened to tracks by users on 1001Tracklists. Similarly, the duo Omnya secured a spot in the top 10 most individually listened to tracks by users with their Afterlife release "Aria", a collaboration with Argy.
