AIAIAI debuts wireless headphones designed for professional DJing
AIAIAI tackles latency issues with custom wireless technology
Danish audio brand AIAIAI has introduced the TMA-2 DJ Wireless, which it claims to be the “world’s first” set of wireless headphones tailored specifically for DJ use.
Unlike conventional wireless consumer headphones that typically use the Bluetooth protocol—resulting in high latency and rendering them unsuitable for beatmatching or cueing—the TMA-2 DJ Wireless addresses this issue with a custom-designed low-latency solution. While Bluetooth lag is unnoticeable during casual music listening, it disrupts the precise timing required in DJ performances, making most wireless options impractical in such environments. To overcome these challenges, TMA-2 DJ Wireless is engineered for professional DJing.
This new product by AIAIAI offers up to 25 hours of battery life and superior sound isolation, making them ideal for loud DJ booths. Weighing just 217g, it’s designed for exceptional comfort and durability. Despite their lightweight build, these headphones are crafted to withstand prolonged use and demanding conditions.
In addition to its core wireless functionality, the TMA-2 DJ Wireless can switch to standard Bluetooth mode for casual listening or use a cable for traditional wired connectivity.
Commenting on their new headphones, AIAIAI founder Frederik Jørgensen remarked: “With the TMA-2 DJ Wireless, we set out to create wireless DJ headphones that truly meet the demands of DJs. For years, wireless technology meant compromising on performance, but with our ultra-low latency wireless technology, we are finally able to deliver a solution that offers both freedom and precision. This is a game-changer for DJs looking to break free from cables.”
Priced at $280, the headphones are expected to be available for purchase by early 2025. More details can be found on AIAIAI’s official website.
