Amsterdam Dance Event announces dates for 2023
ADE 2022, which took place October 19-23, welcomed a record number of 450,000 visitors to the city
Dates for ADE 2023 have been revealed as Amsterdam Dance Event looks back on a historic gathering of electronic music.
Over 1,000 events and projects were held in more than 200 places throughout the city during the 27th edition of the Amsterdam Dance Event, which also featured 2,500+ artists and speakers and a record-breaking 450,000 people from all over the world.
The program this year featured a wide range of electronic music subgenres, live music, and cultural crossovers, including outstanding performances by Metropole Orkest and Suzanne Ciani, Jameszoo's Blind Group, and audiovisual spectacles at Nxt Museum, Within Without at Carré, and Speedy J's STOOR. ADE Arts & Culture addressed issues like social effect with programs like Music Moves and House of Hope as well as mental wellness with DJ Marcelle's meditative sessions.
ADE CONFERENCE
Next to an huge amount of sold out festival events, this year the ADE conference celebrated a triumphant reconnecting and gathering of the global electronic music industry at its home base Felix Meritis. The 3-day ADE Pro program offered keynotes and in-depth discussions covering strategies, new opportunities and urgent topics such as sustainability for live events, mental health for artists and professionals, social change and inclusivity.
The conference also provided a glimpse into the future of both the live entertainment and electronic music industries. Industry executives from around the world and tech specialists spoke about and demonstrated how music professionals may use both new technology, like Web3 and AI, as well as more established ones, such the growing use of streaming monetisation and music licensing. Along with providing a platform for creative entrepreneurs, ADE Pro also organized the ADE Startup Competition in partnership with international early-stage investor Antler. During the grand finale, two winners from among 100 applicants received a €100,000 investment: a data-focused music marketing solution called Un:hurd and SYNKii, a platform for music education.
The dates of ADE 2023 were also unveiled just after this year’s gathering had been completed. Next year’s edition of ADE will take place between October 18-22, 2023.
