Applications open for More Than Music, a 10-week programme for women in music industry

Butterfly Future, a not-for-profit organisation founded by Nigerian-Australian artist Tabi Gazele, has announced a 10-week programme called More Than Music, aimed at providing a safe collaborative space for women in the music industry.

The programme aims to build a strong community and become a source of wellbeing for women who are often overlooked based on their gender, age, social status, background, and other factors. The programme is open to women professionals in the music industry aged 25+ from all countries/regions.

The More Than Music programme is designed to provide a platform for women to bring their value to the table in whatever capacity they have and use it to empower, celebrate, and elevate each other. The programme is open to professionals (entry, junior, and senior level) who are seeking companionship and allyship in the music industry. It is an invitation to those who feel overwhelmed, isolated, or even disoriented within the industry to come together and create a strong community.

At the end of the programme, each participant will be invited to showcase their collaborative projects that celebrate their journey as a creative. The programme is a unique opportunity for women in the music industry to connect with like-minded individuals, build a strong community, and become a source of wellbeing for each other.

Butterfly Future is a not-for-profit organisation created as a means through music, singing and music workshops, the arts, mentoring and sports to promote social inclusion, cultivate, develop and enhance the confidence, talents and social skills of socially excluded groups, particularly the young, economically disadvantaged and underprivileged.

Apply for the 2024 More Than Music programme here until January 20.
