Bandcamp announces addition of playlist feature on mobile app
Creating playlists on Bandcamp's mobile app is now possible
Bandcamp has recently announced a playlist feature on their mobile app.
Creating a playlist on the Bandcamp Fan app is now easy! Once you've opened the app, locate the new playlists tab in your collection. It should be located between 'albums & tracks' and 'downloads'. To add a track or album to your playlist, click on the three dots, and it will be added. Moreover, you can also shuffle your playlist from the 'now playing' screen, which is quite convenient.
Last Wednesday, on February 15, Bandcamp shared an exciting update through the App Store. The announcement stated that the Bandcamp app now enables users to create playlists using the music from their personal collection. Additionally, this is just the beginning, and the company has promised to include more playlist features in the upcoming months.
Last year, the company introduced consecutive, uninterrupted streaming feature to the app, with an added queuing feature to work in a similar fashion to other music streaming platforms such as Spotify.
In the early 2022, Bandcamp was purchased by Epic Games, the developer and publisher behind Fortnite. A statement released by Epic said: "Epic and Bandcamp share a mission of building the most artist-friendly platform that enables creators to keep the majority of their hard-earned money. Bandcamp will play an important role in Epic’s vision to build out a creator marketplace ecosystem for content, technology, games, art, music and more."
The platform ensures that 82% of the money from music purchases goes to the artists and the labels.
