Berghain's Ostgut Booking is closing down

Berghain’s in-house booking agency, Ostgut Booking, is closing down.

According to a report from Resident Advisor, eight people will be made redundant when the agency shuts at the end of this year. It's not clear what will happen to the 28 acts on the roster including Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, Steffi and Answer Code Request, among others. Five artists — Fadi Mohem, Sedef Adasï, Naty Seres, JakoJako and Lakuti —joined the roster earlier this year.

Following the record label, Ostgut Ton, in December, the agency is the most recent division of the Berghain business to shut down. It was a significant force in dance music scene for 16 years, becoming renowned for its mix series and beloved EPs, albums, and compilations. The 16th anniversary collection, Fünfzehn + 1, was the label's final release.

After closing in March 2020, Berghain was shuttered for more than a year before it reopened outdoors in the summer of 2021. In October 2021, the club temporarily opened back up indoors but was asked to close again by the end of the year following a rise in cases.
