Big Murk and Rknddn deliver another collaborative outing with ‘MAWJOOD’
The release builds on the pair’s growing catalogue of collaborations spanning rap, grime and bass music
Regular collaborators Big Murk and Rknddn have joined forces on their latest collaborative single, 'MAWJOOD'.
'MAWJOOD' centres on a minimalist, bass-led soundscape, with Big Murk's rhythm-focused production underpinning Rknddn's performance, reflecting the pair's shared musical direction.
Big Murk, a Palestinian-Jordanian producer, drummer, MC and DJ based in Amman, has become known for blending grime, breaks, techno, jungle, UK garage, electro and GQOM across both his productions and DJ sets. His work is characterised by unconventional drum programming and a strong emphasis on rhythm-led arrangements.
Amman-based rapper Rknddn has established himself as a distinctive voice within Jordan's alternative rap scene. Across his solo and collaborative releases, he has been exploring a sound rooted in rap, grime and bass music.
The pair's ongoing creative partnership has yielded a series of collaborations over recent years, including 'Gazder', 'Gasolina' (featuring Dakn), 'Absar Leish' (alongside Shbash), 'Na7leh' (with Abul3ees) and '3awwi' (featuring Muqata'a), with 'MAWJOOD' continuing that run.
