Border Control releases new single, ‘If’
He explores the darker and deeper sides of his passion on ‘If’
Border Control, the Sri Lanka-hailing now United Arab Emirates-based DJ and music producer, has released his latest single ‘If’ on Big Toys Production.
Having noticed his passion in music at the young age of 12, Border Control has become known for his talent and dedication towards house music. He has released numerous singles and EPs under his previous alias DJ Neta, and his new single showcases his evolution as an artist.
‘If’ marks a new chapter in Border Control's musical career. His previous releases have already garnered support from artists the likes of Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Nikko Z and Aneesh Gera. With this new cut, he hopes to reach new heights as a DJ and producer.
The artists has been DJing since 2015, performing at a variety of commercial events, parties, and clubs. His gigs have taken him to various venues, including The Flamingo House Group - The Attic, Love Bar, Monkey Business, The Uncles Pub, and Botanik Rooftop Bistro & Bar in Colombo, where he held a residency. In 2018, he joined Electro Revo as a DJ, where he was responsible for creating event playlists tailored to clients' needs.
In addition to his work as a DJ, he has been producing since 2011. Initially, he produced experimental music and in 2013, he adopted the DJ alias DJ Neta and began remixing his childhood favourites, which garnered the support of many DJs and producers around the world. In 2018, DJ Neta signed his first record with Ultraviolet Music, which was released later in 2019. He has since released five original tracks, two EPs, three singles and five remixes.
Border Control, Ameer Abdeen’s new alias since 2022, is planning to release five original tracks and five remixes in the near future.
