Desert Groove by Groove On The Grass returns to RAK on February 2-3

Groove On The Grass has announced Desert Groove Festival’s forthcoming edition, an electrifying two-day musical celebration scheduled for February 2-3 in the stunning desert landscape of Ras Al Khaimah.

This year's edition features an impressive line-up of musical maestros: Acid Pauli, Omar Souleyman, Viken Armen, Unders and Caleesi, each set to captivate audiences with their distinct musical styles amidst the serene desert backdrop. Adding to this, over 20 regional and local music legends including Dish Dash, Arado, Baloo, Gharam Electric, Dephspace, and Deian are ready to electrify the festival's two stages during the vibrant first weekend of February.

Nestled in the breathtaking natural vistas of Ras Al Khaimah, the Desert Groove Festival offers a unique blend of the serene desert ambiance and the dynamic pulse of electronic beats. This festival is a testament to the synergy of nature, music, and community, providing a perfect sanctuary for electronic music aficionados.

Acid Pauli, a master of German electronic music, is renowned for blending house, techno, and avant-garde sounds. His career spans decades, marked by enthralling live shows and intricate studio productions. Omar Souleyman, a Syrian music legend, has gained global fame with his unique mix of traditional Syrian folk and modern electronic beats, propelled by his album "Wenu Wenu."

Unders from the Netherlands is recognized for his deep, melodic electronic music, especially his notable track "Syria" that skillfully combines traditional and modern elements. Viken Armen, a French DJ and producer, stands out with his fusion of jazz, house, minimal, hip-hop, and world music, creating a timeless and contemporary sound.

Berlin's Caleesi is known for her distinctive blend of world music and downtempo deep house, creating emotionally rich sets characterised by deep basslines and a narrative that flows through various moods and atmospheres. Her work epitomises the diversity and depth of modern electronic music.

Managing Director of The Artist Network, Deian Markov, says: “We're thrilled to come back to the heart of the desertfor a 2 day celebration with this outstanding lineup of artists. Our mission has always been to create a space where music transcends boundaries, and this 11 years edition will be a testament to that.”

With its status as the capital and largest city of the Emirate of Ras Al-Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates, Ras Al-Khaimah stands as the sixth-largest city in the UAE, coming after the likes of Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Al Ain, and Ajman.
