Flower Storm share debut EP, ‘Yek’

Flower Storm, a new multi-disciplinary project helmed by Sepehr and Kasra V, have released their debut EP titled 'Yek'.

Through the innovative fusion of classic Iranian sounds and folklore with the forward-thinking approaches that define each artist's musical style, they create a musical sword that is both powerful and sharp. By intertwining their ancestral roots and underground electronic influences, Flower Storm embarks on a profound exploration of their heritage while pushing the boundaries of sonic landscapes.

The collaboration between Sepehr Alimagham and Kasra Vaseghi has given birth to an extensive library of sounds, where traditional Iranian instruments like daf, tonbak and santoor seamlessly intertwine with sampled vocals and dialogues from Farsi films, resulting in a captivating sonic fusion. Drawing inspiration from Surrealist painter Ali Akbar Sadeghi's 1972 animation Flower Storm, the project finds its name and visual aesthetics deeply rooted in Iranian mythology, with a specific nod to Abolqasem Ferdowsi's epic poem Shahnameh, reflected in the track titles derived from the English translation of the renowned book.

Blending contemporary and classic sounds, Flower Storm creates an explosive yet intimate sonic experience, evoking the sensation of flowers raining from the sky.

The first offering from the EP, ‘Sage’s prophecy’, was released in the early April. Listen to their debut EP below.
