Human Rias, DOBé and Olha unite for Ukraine with release of ‘Guelder Rose’
‘Guelder Rose’ seeks to raise funds for child victims of war with a stirring musical tribute
Human Rias, DOBé and Ukrainian activist Olha Borovyk have joined forces to release ‘Guelder Rose’, a track with deep roots in Ukrainian history, now reimagined as a powerful anthem of resistance and global solidarity. The track is inspired by the traditional song ‘Chervona Kalyna’, and serves as a call to action.
‘Guelder Rose’ is available via SVET on various digital platforms, including Bandcamp, where listeners were encouraged to contribute any amount towards the cause. The fundraiser was dedicated to supporting Save Ukraine, a charitable organisation focused on aiding children impacted by the war.
The track was first performed live at EXIT Festival on July 12, where it resonated with an audience deeply moved by its message. Human Rias, known for his sophisticated production, along with DOBé and Borovyk, has crafted a piece rich in hopeful chords and uplifting rhythms, with vocals in both English and Ukrainian that speak to the resilience of the Ukrainian people.
In response to the devastating attack on the Okhmatdyt children's hospital, one of Europe’s largest, the artists emphasized the urgency of their mission: “We must do everything we can to support those working tirelessly to ensure their safety, provide them with quality medical care, and offer necessary mental health support. With this release, we aim to raise both funds and awareness to support Save Ukraine, a leading charity dedicated to helping children. The lyrics of ‘Guelder Rose’ serve as a reminder of the global solidarity Ukraine once received, a spirit we must continue to uphold.”
