Kawtar Sadik returns to Ostowana with ‘Halawah’
The new single follows her four-track ‘Mohal’ EP, released earlier this year
Moroccan singer, songwriter, producer and DJ Kawtar Sadik has released her latest single, ‘Halawah’, via Ostowana Records.
Originally from Agadir and now based in Casablanca, the artist brings Amazigh, Gnawa and Arabic influences into music that also takes in Afro house and other club styles. Her own vocals are a regular part of her productions, as are sounds and instruments drawn from Moroccan music. That combination runs through tracks including ‘Ribabohali’, ‘Chabakrou’ and ‘Yelela’.
Sadik first gained wider attention after winning Morocco’s Studio 2M competition in 2013, before gradually moving into production and DJing. Her work has since developed across all four disciplines, with her voice remaining a regular feature of her own productions.
Moroccan DJ and producer Omary’s Ostowana label announced the release by dubbing Sadik the “Moroccan queen of electronic music”, writing: “Moroccan queen of electronic music Kawtar Sadik returns with ‘Halawah’.”
‘Halawah’ adds to Sadik’s catalogue on the label, which includes ‘Omri’, ‘Maktoub’, ‘El Baz’, ‘Dunes’, ‘DABA’ and ‘Tayri’, among others.
The track marks Sadik’s second standalone release of 2026, following the four-track ‘Mohal’ EP earlier this year.
