Maxi Meraki remixes Mahmut Orhan’s ‘Pangea’
‘Pangea’ was originally released on Mahmut Orhan’s debut album, dropped this spring
Maxi Meraki has remixed the title track of Mahmut Orhan’s debut album, released earlier this spring.
Driven by an unyielding desire to leave a lasting impact, Maxi Meraki’s journey through electronic music has seen him releasing tracks on respected labels such as Get Physical, Upperground, and Monaberry. His steady rise on the charts reflects the growing resonance of his sound, which has gained widespread support from industry giants like Solomun, Keinemusik, and Pete Tong. The remix marks another appearance for Maxi Meraki on Ultra Records this year, following his debut on the label with the collaborative single ‘Remember’ with Joyia and his solo offering ‘If You Need It’.
The title ‘Pangea’ harks back to the prehistoric supercontinent, a singular landmass surrounded by the vast superocean Panthalassa, before the Earth's division. Featuring artists from around the world, including Turkish names like TUANA, Kenan Bayramlı, Feri, Axelax, Botan and Monnarsh, Lebanese vocalist Ribale Wehbe, Berlin-based vocalist and producer Paul Brenning and Nathan Nicholson, the lead singer of The Boxer Rebellion, Mahmut Orhan's debut album brings together a cross-cultural fusion of sounds, reflecting the album’s namesake by symbolically reconnecting the world's fragmented musical landscapes.
Maxi Meraki's remix has also been named this week's Essential New Tune on Pete Tong’s BBC Radio 1 show.
