Mikita Skye explores spiralling grooves on new track ‘Kavaal’
She previously appeared with ‘Jazz Asscit’ as the opening track on Peachpuff’s ‘Don’t Touch My Swing’ VA compilation this year
Mikita Skye has released a new track, ‘Kavaal’.
Built around a rolling, interlocking rhythmic pattern, ‘Kavaal’ pairs clipped percussion and woody strikes with recurring vocal motifs that weave around a firmly anchored, spiralling groove. Skye develops the track through gradual shifts in density and tension rather than abrupt structural changes, keeping the emphasis on groove and sustained kinetic momentum.
‘Kavaal’ follows her appearance earlier this year on ‘Don’t Touch My Swing’, a VA compilation from Beirut-based label Peachpuff. Her contribution, ‘Jazz Asscit’, opened the compilation and has been one of her standout releases of 2026.
Of Lebanese, Dutch-Indonesian and English heritage, Mikita Skye is based in Beirut, with selections spanning minimal, electronic, house, funk and disco. A vinyl selector, she incorporates live vocals into her sets alongside her own productions, drawing on a musical background that began with piano at the age of five and composition at eight.
She began producing music at 14 before taking up DJing in 2022. She has since performed across Lebanon, Egypt, Paris and Bali.
