Iranian DJ/producer Øntold, whose real name is Anushiravan Najafizadeh (pictured), has teamed up with Canada-based artist Yøhkan (Daniel Figueiredo) on a new collaborative EP titled ‘Undeserved Mercy’.

Out via Tehran-based imprint Techno Tehran Records, the EP includes remixes from MPAthy, AMAD, ArshiyaZi and Human Rias.

According to a statement by the label, all proceedings will be delivered to the doctors traveling to Iran and helping injured and shot freedom fighters. The statement reads: “As you may know, young people of Iran, demanding their basic human rights and freedom, have been killed for the past few months in streets of Iran. We wanted to dedicate our 50th catalogue to the people of Iran who are demanding their freedom with bare hands against bullets and guns.”

More than one hundred days after they started, the longest and most far-reaching anti-government protests in Iran since the Islamic Revolution of 1979 have left the regime shaken, yet the cost has been high for the Iranian people. HRANA (Human Rights Activists' News Agency) has confirmed that more than 500 protesters, including 69 children, have lost their lives so far. Additionally, two people have been executed, and Norway-based Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO) claims that at least 100 protesters are at risk of similar sentences after unfair trials.

This current wave of demonstrations is distinctive from previous protests in 2017 and 2019, as it encompasses people from all walks of life, and women are taking a lead role with the motto "Woman, Life, Freedom".
