Skrillex teams up with Nai Barghouti on new single ‘Xena’
The single marks the producer's fifth collaborative release of 2023
Skrillex has released a new single ‘Xena’ with Nai Barghouti.
Marking his fifth collaborative single of the year, the track, featuring vocals from the Palestinian composer, singer and flute player Nai Barghouti, comes just a few days after releasing ‘Real Spring’ with Drain Gang member Bladee.
Also this year the DJ and producer has worked with PinkPantheress and Trippie Redd on ‘Way Back’, as well as with Flowdan and Fred Again.. on ‘Rumble’ and with rapper and producer Bobby Raps on ‘Leave Me Like This’.
Skrillex has been rumoured to be working on his first solo album in nearly a decade with ‘Real Spring’ and ‘Way Back’ said to be featuring.
The double LP was first mentioned by fans after the artist posted a 15-second snippet of a forthcoming unreleased track captioned: “QFF/DGTC 23”.
Fans in Skrillex’s subreddit speculated that the second acronym, ’DGTC’, could translate for ‘Don’t Get Too Close’, following a tweet posted by the producer earlier last year.
In recent years, Skrillex has produced for the likes of 100 gecs, Four Tet, Noisia, Justin Bieber, J Balvin, and Ty Dolla $ign yet hasn’t dropped an album since ‘Recess’ nine years ago.
