Sound of Mint portrays “Chaos In The Medina” with new EP
The duo’s new EP features three original productions along with remixes from JAMIIE, Abel Ray and Harmak
Morocco-based DJ and electro-ethnic live performance duo Sound of Mint, comprising Fadel Lahlou & Joel Pellegrini, has released a new EP, titled “Chaos In The Medina”.
Available via Medina Records, a Rue El Ksour-based label founded by Abel Ray and Ibrahim Ettalabi in 2018, the EP sees the continuation of the duo’s exploration of the diversity in African rhythms and sounds.
The title track represents the feeling of being lost in urban life, with a message to never give up and keep hoping, even in the darkest of times. The following track, “Freedom”, which is a collaboration with Samba Diabaté and François Dougère, stands for a tribute to the unyielding human spirit and accentuates the power of music. The duo addresses the value of freedom and finding peace on the final original production, “Be Free” that features Nora Toutain.
The “Chaos In The Medina” EP includes remixes from producers the likes of JAMIIE, Abel Ray and Harmak.
