Toka Musik appoints YokoO as Head of A&R

Toka Musik has appointed YokoO (Julien Beltzung) as Head of A&R for its record label.

Founded in 2017 with roots in Lebanon and Dubai, and now operating with an expanding footprint across the Middle East, Toka Musik has built its reputation on championing culture-driven talent and community-first growth. YokoO’s appointment points to a more defined creative direction and a stronger international outlook: identifying and nurturing standout artists from MENA while forging meaningful links with the wider global electronic landscape.

To usher in this next phase, the label will release YokoO’s forthcoming EP, Ortus, in early March, a flagship release designed to set the tone for the road ahead.

Speaking to Mixmag MENA about the new role, YokoO said: “I’m excited to join Toka Musik at such an important moment in its evolution. With the brand’s roots in Lebanon and its growing presence across the Middle East, I’m looking forward to helping shape a clear musical identity whilst supporting emerging artists, and building meaningful connections between cultures and communities through thoughtful A&R. I grew deeply connected to the region earlier in my career through shows and people, and it’s inspiring to now return with the intention of building something lasting.”

Georges Bou Saleh, founder of Toka Musik, also reflected on the appointment: “For us, this is not just an appointment, it is a statement. Bringing YokoO in as Head of A&R accelerates that mission. Launching this chapter with his EP Ortus makes it even more powerful.
