Van Boom releases new single from his forthcoming album, ‘Prosthetics’
Featuring whiterose, ‘Agora’ is taken from Van Boom’s forthcoming LP that is due for release on December 11
Kuwait-based electronic music producer and DJ Van Boom has released his latest single, “Agora”.
The artist is a member of the underground electronic dance music scene in Kuwait and various other Arab Gulf states. His sound consists of fragmenting the industrial landscapes of the Gulf while experiencing dualities of distortion and memory.
Van Boom’s new single is taken from his forthcoming album, “Prosthetics”, which is due for release on December 11 via Cease 2 Exist label. “Prosthetics continues the acceleration with an uncompromising statement of intent from the Kuwait-based artist. Orbiting hyper-industrial dread yet threatening to freefall into a melancholic blackhole, Prosthetics introduces the scarcely balanced tension at the core of his work with a wicked and combusting fascination” reads the Stockholm-based label’s statement on social media.
“Firmly rooted in the Arab states along the Gulf Region, Van Boom is an outsider at home. Inhibited by the obligation to limit self-expression and artistic activity due to the top-down restrictions local to the region, his work questions what is forbidden and what is binary in an uncompromising context.”
The single “Agora” features Amsterdam-based artist whiterose in the co-producer seat.
