Vexillary has expanded ‘Digital Suspiria’ with album video game
‘Digital Suspiria: The Game’ explores album's cybernetic world across three gameplay modes
Vexillary (Reza Seirafi) has expanded the world of his latest album 'Digital Suspiria' with the launch of 'Digital Suspiria: The Game', an interactive project that transforms the record into a playable digital experience.
Developed as part of the album's rollout, the project extends 'Digital Suspiria' beyond a conventional listening format by bringing together music, gameplay and virtual environments. Rather than following a linear storyline, the experience is divided into three modes — 'Digital Suspiria Melee', 'Actor Bahn Racer' and 'Digital Kill Shot' — each offering a different way of navigating the album's cybernetic universe through movement, interaction and sound.
The release marks an uncommon approach within electronic music, with the game serving as an extension of the album rather than a standalone companion. By translating the record's themes into an interactive format, Vexillary invites audiences to engage with the project beyond its music, blurring the distinction between listener and player.
'Digital Suspiria' is Vexillary's fourth full-length album and explores a sound shaped by EBM foundations, electronic body music, techno influences and melodic songwriting. While moving away from a narrative-led structure, the record centres on tightly constructed productions and recurring themes surrounding human-machine relationships, emotional circuitry and spirituality.
In an Instagram post announcing the project, Vexillary said: "It's a browser-based game that you can play for free right now. It's been a dream of mine to develop my own game after being a lifelong gamer and the day is finally here. You get three games — a racer, a shooter, and a melee — soundtracked by my new LP to expand the album universe."
