Cairo DJ/producer ZULI (Ahmed El Ghazoly) has released a new LP, entitled ‘Digla Dive - Live’.
ZULI's new album captures the raw energy of his studio compositions and in-the-moment improvisations. While the standout track 'Alteration Jump' features the frenetic vocals of Elvin Brandhi and Karim El Ghazoly, the majority of the recording showcases ZULI's exploration of ruffneck IDM, pushing the boundaries of style and pattern.
Drawing from years of extensive touring, ZULI delivers a distinctively bold and intricate form of avant-club music, refusing to conform to conventional structures and he masterfully blends elements of road-ready mahraganat and electro-shaabi, infusing them with the explosive energy of early '00s breakcore. The result is an impressive sonic journey, shifting seamlessly from hyper-chromatic ambient passages to ecstatic noise and futurist geometries.
Having earned acclaim for his previous works, including the highly regarded 'Terminal' in 2018, ZULI faced a setback in 2019 when his laptop and live performance gear were stolen. Undeterred, he has risen above the challenges and delves deep into his sonic universe with 'Digla Dive - Live’
