Artists take part in 500-kilometre cycle from London to Amsterdam’s ADE for charity
All proceeds will be donated to Choose Love to help refugees fleeing Ukraine
Musicians, DJs and others from the wider music industry are riding more than 500 kilometres from London to Amsterdam to raise money for refugee charity Choose Love.
Music charity Bridges For Music is hosting the sixth edition of its yearly charity Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) cycle.
This time, all of the proceeds will go to the charity Choose Love, which will be donated to refugees fleeing Ukraine. The event was set up by the charity, Bridges for Music, to raise funds for its program that provides quality education to young talent in underserved communities in South Africa. However, with the war taking place in Ukraine this year’s ride has partnered with Choose Love to help supply humanitarian aid for refugees.
The journey began on October 16 in London and is going for four days before arriving at its destination on October 19. This means that cyclists are having enough time to get to ADE and join in the conference and events.
The cycle ride is also in collaboration with Pioneer DJ, and cyclists can kit out in a Pioneer DJ kit.
The cycle ride set off from Resident Advisor’s Shoreditch headquarters. Riders were then divided into groups depending on pace and ability - there are planned stops every 2 hours.
Over-industry friends have cycled to support good causes in the past, including artists like Richie Hawtin, Joris Voorn, Chris Liebing, Pan-Pot, Uner, Rebekah, Juliet Fox, and Jamiee. The charity has raised over 170,000 pounds in the past from challenges such as this one. The new campaign has just hit its 30,000-pound mark in fundraising.
