Bader creates sonic dialogue between family roots and club music on new EP
The Soundcloud-only 3-tracker includes the cuts ’Syria On Speed’, ‘Libya On Speed’ and ‘Belgium On Speed’
DJ, producer, Yalla Worldwide founder and Radio Flouka resident Bader has shared a Soundcloud-only three-track EP, titled ‘On Speed’.
In this EP, a sonic journey unfolds as it delves into the artist's tri-fold heritage, masterfully blending the ancestral melodies of both his father's and mother's countries. It poses a captivating query: What if these sounds were mixed with contemporary club music?
Born to a Libyan mother and a Syrian father, Bader's formative years were split between the bustling cities of Benghazi and Damascus. His auditory landscape was painted with the rhythmic beats of Libyan tagaza majrouda and the sophisticated strains of Syrian classical tunes.
The now Belgium-based artist wrote on his Instagram account: “I tried to heal my frustration and my identity crisis via art. I would like to thank everyone for the support and love that I received. I want also to thank Nour Le Q for being the first human ever to drop a track from this EP in Cairo Jazz Club that means the world to me also Yara Said for the massive support. And especially for my bro 5amaseen for the mixing and the amazing technical skills.”
