Bandcamp Friday comes back to support artists and labels directly

Bandcamp Friday makes its return today (1 August), offering fans another chance to give direct financial support to artists and independent labels via purchases made on the platform.

The initiative, which gained momentum during the COVID‑19 pandemic, waives Bandcamp’s usual commission on music, merchandise and other sales, allowing creators to take home 100% of the proceeds.

Figures released by the company show that the most recent edition in May generated more than $3.2 million (£2.4 million) for independent artists and labels in just 24 hours. Since launching in 2020, the programme has helped drive over £105 million in sales.

Today’s edition kicked off at 7am WET, 9am EET, 10am AST and 11am GST, and runs for 24 hours, wrapping up at the same local times tomorrow.

Bandcamp has confirmed three further instalments for the rest of the year: 5 September, 3 October and 5 December 2025 will each see the return of the initiative, giving music fans more opportunities to back the artists and labels they love.
