Carlita: ‘17-year-old us from Casablanca and Istanbul would never imagine this moment’
The pair revisited Boston to inspire Harvard students and energised the Spee Club with their set
Turkish-Italian DJ/producer Carlita has shared a heartfelt reflection on social media following a recent visit to Harvard University, where she and fellow artist Ahmed Spins were invited to speak about their journey in music and business.
In an Instagram post captioned “Made it to Harvard!”, Carlita recounted the full-circle moment of returning to Boston, where both she and Ahmed Spins studied during their formative years, to engage with the university’s Digital, Humanities, and Business (DHB) community. The pair delivered a talk that traced their paths from emerging artists to global figures in electronic music, offering students insight into the intersections of creativity, culture and business.
“Ahmed and I both studied together in Boston, so it became a full circle moment,” Carlita wrote. “17-year-old us coming from Casablanca and Istanbul would never imagine this moment.”
To cap off the visit, they performed for students at Harvard’s historic Spee Club, famously once attended by John F. Kennedy. Carlita described it as an unforgettable one, with the space erupting in energy: “Wow, did that place go off.”
