VÜMA and Das Pharaoh collaborate on ‘Morgana’
It serves as the second release of 2024 by Das Pharaoh, hot on the heels of last month's ‘Watt Is Right?’
VÜMA (Ahmed Romel) and Das Pharaoh (Fadi Wassef Naguib) are ready to captivate the melodic techno realm with their first collaborative single, ‘Morgana’.
Released via UV Noir, a label launched by Fadi himself and Paul Thomas in 2021, ‘Morgana’ marks the audacious debut of VÜMA, the fresh alias adopted by the trance act Ahmed Romel. The single also represents a synergistic collaboration with Das Pharaoh, the mysterious side project of Fadi Wassef Naguib, one half of the iconic duo Aly & Fila.
Das Pharaoh was spectacularly unveiled to the world during the unforgettable FSOE800 event in Egypt last September. The genesis of ‘Morgana’ traces back to 2020, a period of intense creativity and experimentation for both artists, culminating in a track that effortlessly bridges their distinct sounds.
The track is an exquisite melding of the traditional baglama sounds with the cutting-edge soundscapes of electronic music, enriched by haunting vocals that elevate the piece to a transcendent level.
‘Morgana’ introduces VÜMA to the music world for the first time, yet for Das Pharaoh, it serves as the second release of 2024, hot on the heels of last month's ‘Watt Is Right?’.
