Desert Groove by Groove On The Grass returns to RAK at the end of this month

Dubai’s open-air festival Groove On The Grass is kicking off its 10th anniversary celebration season with a two-day Desert Groove event at Dune Resort in Ras Al-Khaimah on January 27-29.

This homegrown festival is set to start 2023 off with a bang, featuring a star-studded lineup of performers. Headlining the event will be the popular Denmark-based trio WhoMadeWho, known for their emotional depth, heart-wrenching melodies, and inspired songwriting. They have performed at many of the world's most prestigious dance music clubs and festivals, such as Sonar Barcelona, Ushuaia Ibiza, Space Miami and Papaya Playa Tulum.

Also performing at Desert Groove is the German duo Andhim, bringing their housy-soul sound to Ras Al Khaimah. Other notable acts include techno superstar Patrice Bäumel, acclaimed for his dark, experimental grind and liquid metal explosions, as well as Viken Arman, Husa & Zeyada, Patrik Khach, Vinylmode, Shellwell, Omar Fayyad and many more, all of whom are sure to bring the noise between the dunes.

Managing Director of The Artist Network, Deian Markov, says: “We’re excited to be pushing boundaries with our programming and are looking forward to our only event of the season in the desert with a discerning lineup of 30+ artists from around the globe.” This one-time-only event has limited capacity and will offer an interactive experience over two full days, with live acro yoga, hooping, capoeira, interactive art installations, a fashion/art market place, and food village. Attendees are encouraged to come early and witness how the playground transforms as day turns into night.

With its status as the capital and largest city of the Emirate of Ras Al-Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates, Ras Al-Khaimah stands as the sixth-largest city in the UAE, coming after the likes of Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Al Ain, and Ajman.
