EA Sports unveils the best FIFA soundtracks of all-time for FIFA 23 World Cup update

As part of the more than a month's worth of programming planned by EA Sports for the biggest sporting spectacle on the planet, the much awaited World Cup mode for FIFA 23 went live. Besides, the update is accompanied by the ‘Ultimate FIFA Soundtrack’ that follows nominations from fans across the globe, consisting of an unprecedented 100 tracks from EA Sports FIFA titles over the past 25 years. 40 of these 100 tracks featured on Spotify have been added to FIFA 23 itself as part of the World Cup mode.

FIFA has a reputation for choosing soundtracks that tap into the heart of contemporary culture and this new soundtrack is no different, drawing heavily from grime and electronic music. It features the top 100 most-streamed and most-nominated tracks including offerings from the likes of Massive Attack, Fatboy Slim, Disclosure, ROSALÍA, Chase & Status, Bob Moses and Gorillaz. Also on the soundtrack are Avicii, Tame Impala, Skepta, Porter Robinson, Stormzy, LCD Soundsystem and Sofi Tukker.

A recent study revealed that Gen Z are discovering new music through video games, according to an MRC Data report. The study found that 28% of Gen Z-ers use gaming to find new music, while a further 49% use platforms such as TikTok.

The Qatar 2022 World Cup will run from November 20 - December 18.
