Lilya Mandre shares new single ‘Casablanca’ alongside mini documentary

Lilya Mandre has teamed up with Brazilian producer VXSION for ‘Casablanca’, a new single released via Pete Tong’s Places & Spaces. The track marks the first collaboration between the two artists and places Lilya Mandre’s personal narrative at its centre, drawing directly from her Moroccan roots.

Rooted in Lilya’s Moroccan heritage, the track weaves hypnotic rhythms with soulful vocal lines and cinematic melodies to capture the city’s emotional pull.

Having quickly established herself as one of electronic music’s most distinctive emerging voices, she has recently supported Keinemusik, Swedish House Mafia and Black Coffee, alongside securing a summer residency at Hï Ibiza. Her catalogue already spans respected labels including Crosstown Rebels, Diynamic and IN/ROTATION, with ‘Casablanca’ continuing a run of releases that balance introspection with dancefloor intent. Speaking on the track, she described it as deeply personal: “This track is my love letter to Casablanca, my way to make peace. For me, it’s both an ending and a beginning.”

VXSION brings a complementary approach to the collaboration, following a breakthrough year that saw him perform more than 70 shows worldwide and reach number one on Beatport with ‘Amana’. “One of my favorite piano compositions, where I carefully blended the vocals and piano together, making them feel like one – part of my heart is in this one,” the producer noted.

Alongside the release, a mini documentary provides insight into the project, with Lilya Mandre leading its concept and production, and directed and shot by Adrian Villagomez.
