Mahmut Orhan and Drumstone team up for new single, ‘Allies’
Turkish artists join forces for an Ultra Records release
LA-based DJ/producer Mahmut Orhan and Turkish duo Drumstone have joined forces for their first collaboration, ‘Allies’, which was recently released via Ultra Records. The track features both artists' signature styles, resulting in an engaging and energetic dance tune.
‘Allies’ also features a unique and unexpected element - samples from the late Turkish actor Sadri Alisik, taken from his iconic performance in the 1964 Turkish movie Avare. The inclusion of these samples adds a layer of nostalgia and cultural richness to the track, making it a true standout in the already impressive discographies of both Orhan and Drumstone. The samples, at the same time, serve to highlight stray animals’ rights and respect for animals.
The project marks Orhan’s third release on Ultra Records in 2022, following his Sofi Tukker-collaborated track ‘Forgive Me’ and ‘Dönmem Ben Sana’ with Selin, and is Drumstone's debut on Ultra Records.
