Mia Koden keeps things in motion with her new EP
Adding to the vibe, the artist gives a glimpse into her past with the EP’s artwork, a charming throwback to her 10th birthday

Mia Koden has dropped her latest EP, ‘Keep it steppin’’.
The title ‘Keep it steppin’’ captures the spirit of pushing through, whether it’s on the dancefloor or in life. Koden herself describes the phrase as a call “to continue moving, progressing, or advancing… to encourage someone to keep going,” especially through music and movement. Created during a time when she was battling fatigue, the EP channels that struggle into a vibrant, uplifting soundscape that’s equal parts introspective and infectious.
‘Come Again’ kicks things off with steady bass and intricate percussion, establishing a vibrant, engaging tone from the start. ‘Movements’ dives deeper with its gritty, bass-driven sound, balancing a hefty low-end with dynamic rhythms that feel both grounded and exploratory. Rounding out the EP, ‘Skank Steady’ delivers a woozy, subby club vibe with a playful twist.
This three-track self-release follows on from Mia Koden’s standout releases in 2024, following her two EPs, ‘34U’ and ‘34U.2’. She also dropped the solo single ‘Up (Run That)’ last year, with all proceeds supporting Sudanese and South Sudanese causes through donations to the Darfur Women Action Group and Confident Children Out of Conflict.
