MoBlack returns to Istanbul for a headline show at Klein Phönix
17 April will also see Murmusica, NODUS, Ravano and Mien appear on the line-up
MoBlack is set to return to Istanbul with a show at Klein Phönix on Friday, 17 April.
Presented by Houseyounite, Aria Events and Soul Fabrik, the event will host MoBlack as its headliner, the Italian DJ and producer, born Mimmo Falcone, widely recognised for shaping the global trajectory of Afro House and Afro-Tech.
As the founder of MoBlack Records, he has built a catalogue of releases that regularly circulate across international DJ sets, contributing to the wider visibility of Afro-influenced house music. His sound is rooted in his time spent in Africa, where he actively collaborated with local artists and immersed himself in the region’s music culture. Alongside his own releases, his label activity continues to highlight and support artists working within the genre.
He began DJing at an early age and gained initial experience through local FM radio, before relocating to Ghana in 2003. Over the years, he became closely involved in the local scene, playing, collaborating and developing his musical direction alongside artists there. The MoBlack project took shape in Ghana in 2012, built around the idea of creating a platform for house music talent from across the continent. The name itself comes from Twi, where “Mo” translates to “Well done / Congratulations,” reflecting the project’s original intent.
Among his most recognised releases are tracks such as “Yamore”, alongside other widely played cuts including “Kuwe”, “Ngeke”, “Mayana”, “Sweet Reminder” and “Solfa (Tila)”.
The line-up will also feature Murmusica, part of Before Sunset Cesme’s “2Gethr” series, alongside NODUS, whose catalogue includes releases on Toolroom, Make The Girls Dance and Hotl Records. Ravano and Mien are set to open the night with a b2b performance.
