Mochakk lands on Ninja Tune with new EP, ‘From The Stars’

Mochakk has released his hotly tipped debut EP, ‘From The Stars’, on the UK’s revered Ninja Tune imprint. This slick two-tracker showcases the Brazilian artist’s knack for fusing homegrown flair with UK-leaning beats, cementing a standout moment in his meteoric rise and Ninja Tune’s legacy of spotlighting trailblazing electronic talent.

Kicking things off, the title track ‘From The Stars’ weaves airy female vocals into a reimagined slice of The Rah Band’s 1980s gem ‘Messages From The Stars.’ With disco-tinged house rhythms and retro nods, it’s a clever mash-up of yesterday’s grooves and today’s dancefloor energy, landing a sound that feels both timeless and bang-on current.

Next up, ‘Maria’ arrives with buzz already in tow, having teased fans during Mochakk’s 2023 Cercle performance. Sparse yet seductive vocals sit atop lush synth layers and mesmerising builds, dipping into UK-inspired territory with a hypnotic pull that’s set to hook listeners worldwide.

"It's completely bananas to release on Ninja. It's one of those stamp-of-approval moments. It's such a respected label for years where so many great albums and singles were released from artists I've listened to for years. It feels unreal," the producer says. "I really enjoyed that they chose two very different tracks for that EP," Mochakk commented about his new release.
