Hear moktar’s new drum ‘n’ bass slammer, ‘Haraka’
Saad El Soghayar's wedding anthem 'Hatgawez' is reimagined as a high-octane 160 BPM crawler
moktar delves into the realms of jungle in his latest single, ‘Haraka’.
Released on Astral People Recordings, the track is a dynamic foray into the genre at a pulse-racing 160 BPM. ‘Haraka’ incorporates the 2006 hit ‘Hatgawez’ by the renowned Egyptian singer and actor Saad El Soghayar, setting his vocals against a backdrop of electrifying rhythms, dynamic textures and energetic layers of sounds.
The Egyptian-Australian artist pays homage to a piece of Arab musical heritage and pushes the boundaries of d&b, introducing elements that promise to ignite any party.
“My latest single ‘Haraka’ features the notorious singer Egyptian Saad Soghayar. The topline is taken from one of the biggest tracks, ‘Hatgawez’, which is well known in the Middle Eastern world for being one of the most played tracks at any wedding since the 2000s. Combining my love for Jungle and Arabic music to bring you all my own taste with high energy and celebration to the dancefloor”, said moktar, speaking to Dance Wax about his first release of the year.
