Nesa Azadikhah blends sound and solidarity for women in Iran’s prisons with new EP

Nesa Azadikhah has released a four-track EP on Kulture Galerie’s cassette tape sub-label, Digital Artefacts.

The project sees the Iranian artist weave together a deeply personal narrative, with each track named after key figures in her life—her two dogs, her life partner and herself—offering an intimate exploration of her influences and inspirations.

Musically, the EP spans a diverse sonic spectrum, drawing from the artist’s broad artistic palette. The A-side carries strong UK-inspired techno elements, while the B-side shifts gears into a slower, chugging dark disco groove and a hypnotic dub-infused cut, showcasing the producer’s ability to navigate different textures and tempos with finesse.

Beyond its sonic depth, the release also carries a humanitarian purpose. Half of the proceeds from ‘My World’ will be donated to support women prisoners in Iran. Given the challenges posed by sanctions and governmental surveillance, aid will be channelled directly through the families of prisoners to ensure secure and effective distribution. Due to security concerns, names of recipients will remain undisclosed.
