New Cleanify app makes Spotify playlists family-friendly
“Cleanify allows you to easily create completely clean or explicit versions of your Spotify playlists”
A new app named Cleanify can change your Spotify playlists to be cuss-free and family-friendly.
The app is currently browser-based and requires access to users personal Spotify account in order to go through particular playlists chosen by the user.
The option of ‘Explicitify’ allows users to revert back to the original version of playlists.
Cleanify claim that they can “easily create completely clean or explicit versions of your Spotify playlists”
By requesting Spotify’s API to search each song in the playlist, the search can check if songs are clean.
If any issues occur, users can manually go through results of the search themselves confirming whether or not songs are clean or explicit.
You can download the Cleanify desktop app here.
Spotify has also released this week their annual transparency report ‘Loud and Clear’ which revealed that only 52,600 artists generated more than $10,000 (£7,585.95) on the streaming platform in 2021.
Spotify has paid out more than $7 billion to rights holders including artists, labels, and distributors last year which is up from 2020's $5 billion.
According to Spotify, this is the largest sum to be paid from one retailer to the music industry in one year including any single retailer at the height of the CD era.
