Omar Souleyman shares the first single from his new album ‘Erbil’
The artist has released a new single titled ‘Rahat Al Chant Ymme’, delivering the first piece of material from his fifth album
Omar Souleyman has returned with a brand new track on Diplo’s label, Mad Decent, set to appear on his forthcoming fifth album.
‘Rahat Al Chant Ymme’ landed today, February 21, as the label announced it on Instagram. “Omar Souleyman is back with his newest single Rahat Al Chant Ymme,” the label told followers.
Taking its name from the Iraqi city that has recently become Souleyman's abode, the eight-track album ‘Erbil’ offers a deeper exploration into the unique fusion of techno and dabke for which the Syrian artist has garnered acclaim. ‘Erbil’ will mark his fifth studio album and is scheduled to drop on March 29 via the Mad Decent label.
‘Erbil’ acts as the follow-up to Omar Souleyman’s six-track 2019 album, entitled ’Shlon’, and this first single, ‘Rahat Al Chant Ymme’, marks the Syrian electro dabke legend’s comeback following a two-year pause since his 2022 collaboration ‘Sayir’ with Iraqi poet and journalist Nazar Al Fares.
