Palestinian imprint Deviousco gears up for label launch with party in Amman

Palestinian imprint Deviousco is set to make its official label debut this Friday on December 5 at Club Pixels in Amman. Led by Haifa-based artist and curator Sarv, the project marks a new chapter for Deviousco, which first emerged in 2022 as an event series and art collective with a focus on alternative club culture.

The night will be hosted in collaboration with Hobtape Collective, the Amman-based crew of Salloom, Budda and Hish, with both groups positioning themselves as key drivers of the region’s dark disco, EBM, italo, indie-dance, and dark psychedelia scenes. Their joint efforts have helped expand a fast-growing wave of cross-border collaboration, connecting artists and audiences across Palestine, Jordan and beyond.

The party will feature performances by Salloom, Tushen Raï b2b Warum, Ravetop, and label head Sarv.

The launch will also pave the way for Deviousco’s first official release, a 10-track compilation due towards the end of December, bringing together producers from across the MENA region and the wider global underground.

Featuring artists from Syria, Palestine, Algeria, Turkiye and Egypt, alongside contributors from Europe and Latin America, the project brings together a cross-regional mix of sounds and perspectives. In a statement accompanying the release, the label notes that “this marks the first Palestinian label operating within this sonic realm, spanning dark psychedelia, alternative punk, slow burns, faster burns, and eclectic underground hybrids.”

Artists featured on the compilation include Mayday (Greece), Anomalie Magnétique (France), Gunce Aci (Turkiye), Ravetop (Colombia), Must Rousnam (Algeria), Treasure Island (Italy), Maister x Chinosynth (Mexico), Sarv (Palestine), Saharty (Egypt) and V Vertigo (Syria).
