Playtime Engineering to unveil MPC-inspired instrument for children

Playtime Engineering, a US-based toy design company that designs and manufactures musical instruments and synthesisers for kids, is set to release a new electronic instrument for children.

Positioned within their Blipblox synthesiser range, myTRACKS bridges the gap between a toy and a music production tool, aiming to make electronic music production accessible to young enthusiasts.

The myTRACKS device is equipped with a built-in microphone and speakers, polychromatic backlit hit pads and a MIDI-out port, enabling connectivity with other devices. Additionally, the instrument is battery-operated, allowing children the freedom to create music anywhere.

Regarding music production features, myTRACKS offers nearly 50 customisable instruments, alongside effects such as filters, delay and pitch bend. Users can also take advantage of recording functions to capture, edit and loop their sounds.

According to the company, all Blipblox devices have been subjected to thorough testing to ensure they are BPA-free and meet toy safety standards. To prevent choking hazards, the plastic knobs are fixed securely to the device, making them non-removable by children. Furthermore, the batteries are contained within a screw-down compartment for added safety.

The Kickstarter campaign for myTRACKS was completed successfully a few weeks ago, but those interested can still pledge for available rewards.

Playtime Engineering has slated a November release for myTRACKS. A demonstration video is available below.
