Serhan Sabanlar revisits Perfecto Allstarz classic ‘Reach Up’ in 2026 rework

Serhan Sabanlar has put his spin on Perfecto Allstarz’s 1995 hit ‘Reach Up (Papa’s Got a Brand New Pigbag)’.

The two-track release features a reimagined high-tempo cut, dubbed ‘Reach Up 2026’, alongside Serhan Sabanlar’s house-driven reinterpretation. Both versions reframe the original’s iconic brass-led energy through modern production techniques, aimed squarely at current dancefloor contexts.

Originally released in 1995, ‘Reach Up (Papa’s Got a Brand New Pigbag)’ by Perfecto Allstarz became a defining moment in UK dance music, reaching number six on the UK Singles Chart and topping the UK Dance Chart. A reworking of Pigbag’s 1981 instrumental, the track helped cement the collective’s position within the mid-1990s electronic scene, where they contributed to shaping the evolving sounds of house and trance.

Closely linked to Paul Oakenfold’s Perfecto Records, Perfecto Allstarz played a key role in pushing forward club-oriented production during the era, blending high-energy arrangements with crossover appeal. Their output remains associated with a wave of artists who expanded the boundaries of electronic music through both original productions and remixes.

For Serhan Sabanlar, the release follows on from his 2025 debut on Habitat Label Group with ‘Viciosa’, a two-track EP that included a remix from Ozgur Uzar. Serhan Sabanlar’s name is closely associated with Istanbul’s Radio 2019, widely regarded as Turkey’s first dedicated electronic music station, established in 1994.

‘Reach Up 2026’ is out via 48K Records, the label established by Paul Oakenfold in 1999.
