SoundCloud empowers creators with 100% distribution royalties

SoundCloud has announced a new “all-in-one” artist subscription that will allow creators to retain 100% of their distribution royalties.

In a statement shared on October 30, the platform confirmed that it will stop taking a share of distribution royalties starting from the next payout cycle at the end of November.

This update covers revenue generated both directly on SoundCloud and through tracks distributed to other major streaming platforms – including Spotify, Apple Music and TikTok, via its distribution service.

Artists in the US will also gain free access to SoundCloud’s “fan-to-artist support” feature, which enables them to add a “support” button to their page so fans can contribute any amount they wish to support the artists they love.

Additional features included in the subscription include an on-demand vinyl service, allowing artists to produce limited-edition vinyl runs without up-front costs or bulk orders, alongside artist storefronts and merchandise options.

“SoundCloud has always been about putting artists first. With this launch, we’re taking that mission further by giving artists a truly all-in-one subscription, including distribution without detours, community without barriers, and monetisation without compromise, including direct support from their fans,” SoundCloud CEO Eliah Seton said in a statement.
