Tresor Foundation opens club management training programme to international applicants
Participation is free of charge, with applications open until 29 June
Tresor Foundation is opening its club-focused education and development programme to international applicants for the first time.
The latest edition of How to Run a Club, organised by the Academy of Subcultural Understanding, the educational arm of Tresor Foundation operating within Berlin's Tresor nightclub, will welcome aspiring and emerging club owners from around the world.
Founded by Dimitri Hegemann in 2021, Tresor Foundation Berlin was established to strengthen cities and communities through the preservation and support of club culture. Hegemann is widely regarded as one of the leading figures in the field, having founded both Berlin Atonal and Tresor, two institutions that have played a defining role in the evolution of contemporary electronic music.
As part of Hegemann's ongoing efforts to share his experience with a new generation of cultural entrepreneurs, the programme will bring participants to Berlin for three weeks of seminars, workshops and hands-on training between 14 September and 4 October. Preparatory online sessions will take place every two weeks from July onwards, while each participant will also be paired with a mentor from their local region.
The curriculum is built around practical knowledge and real-world experience. Participants will receive training in key areas including artist booking, door policies, business planning, financial sustainability and legal advocacy. All sessions will be led by teams from Berlin's iconic Tresor and OHM venues.
Designed for club entrepreneurs aged 21 to 35 who are either preparing to launch their own venue or have recently opened one, the programme requires applicants to submit a 60-second video alongside a one-page statement outlining their vision. Participation is free of charge, and the application deadline has been set for 29 June.
