Jast unveils remixes of Myriam Fares’ ‘Aman’ and EMEL’s ‘Holm’
Jast joins forces with Ahmed Romel on ‘Aman’ while taking on EMEL’s 'Holm' for a separate remix
French DJ and producer Jast has unveiled two new remixes, reworking Myriam Fares’ 'Aman' alongside Jordanian producer Ahmed Romel and taking on EMEL’s (Emel Mathlouthi) 'Holm' for a separate remix.
Jast revealed both productions through his social media accounts, sharing video clips from his Dubai debut at Hive DXB last month to preview the forthcoming reworks. Release dates for the two remixes have not yet been announced.
Originally released in 2015 as the title track of Lebanese singer Myriam Fares’ fifth studio album, 'Aman' draws on the historic Andalusian muwashshah 'Lamma Bada Yatathanna', recasting the composition within a contemporary Arabic-pop setting. The track is also familiar territory for Romel, who shared his own uplifting trance interpretation of 'Aman' in 2015.
The new version brings Ahmed Romel together with Jast, whose recent work has moved between melodic and driving techno, house and trance. The Lyon-based artist broke through on Afterlife with 'Move' in 2025, before joining Kevin de Vries on 'Born Like That'. His catalogue has since expanded to Adriatique’s Siamese and Anyma’s ÆDEN Records, where 'Dancin' appeared on the label’s inaugural 'Digital Renaissance Vol. 1' compilation.
Romel, meanwhile, has built a longstanding presence in uplifting trance, combining the genre with cinematic, classical and orchestral influences. His early work also earned support from Armin van Buuren’s A State of Trance, while he later became closely associated with Aly & Fila’s Future Sound of Egypt, releasing his debut album 'RÜYA' through the label in 2019. His catalogue also includes 'Yarden', 'Paradisum' and the Aly & Fila collaboration 'Kingdoms'.
A couple of days earlier, Jast previewed a remix of 'Holm' by Tunisian artist EMEL. The song first surfaced alongside a self-shot video in April 2020 and later appeared on her album 'The Tunis Diaries'.
Meaning 'A Dream', 'Holm' is EMEL’s Arabic reinterpretation of the Iranian song 'Soltane Ghalbhaa', retaining Anoushirvan Rohani’s composition with new Arabic lyrics written by Mathlouthi.
Further details, including the labels and release dates for Jast’s 'Aman' and 'Holm' remixes, have yet to be announced.
