Sultan + Shepard featured on UN Chamber Music Society album, ‘HARMONY’
The UN’s 80th anniversary is marked through a cross-genre electronic release
Sultan + Shepard, comprising Ossama Al Sarraf and Ned Shepard, are among the artists featured on the United Nations Chamber Music Society’s newly released album 'HARMONY', an electronic music compilation curated to mark the UN’s 80th anniversary.
Curated by the Chamber Music Society’s founder and artistic director Brenda Vongova, 'HARMONY' brings together electronic works from artists across multiple regions, each newly reimagined in orchestral form.
The reworked Sultan + Shepard contribution is the duo’s 2023 track ‘RnR’.
The release of 'HARMONY' was accompanied by a virtual concert broadcast via UN Web TV and the United Nations’ official YouTube channel. All streaming revenue generated by the compilation will be donated to United Nations humanitarian initiatives through the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
The nine-track album also includes reworked tracks by Paul van Dyk, ARTBAT, KSHMR, Francis Mercier, Kiesza, MR TOUT LE MONDE, Marnik, Julio Victoria, alongside Sultan + Shepard.
The UN Chamber Music Society said in a statement: “Electronic music is a universal language that has brought people together from all over the world, spreading peace, positivity and inclusivity. By celebrating the works of composers from diverse backgrounds, we help to realign the world of electronic music – symbolizing our hopes of building bridges of understanding of human rights.”
